No Yard Sales

March 26, 2020

There will be no yard sale permits issued within the city limits of Jay.  This is in affect until April 30, 2020.  This is due to the "Safer At Home" issued by Governor Stitt.

Governor Stitt's Executive COVID-19 Order

March 25, 2020

Delaware County has had its first confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.
 
We understand the stress level this can cause and encourage everyone to be as educated as possible about COVID-19. 
 
The Governor has issued the following emergency orders:
 
Enforces “Safer at Home” order statewide, requesting elderly and individuals who are immunocompromised or have a pre-existing condition to shelter in their homes, leaving only for essential needs like groceries or prescriptions, until April 30. Here is a link to the CDC guidelines regarding higher-risk individuals.
 
Suspends elective surgeries, minor medical procedures, and non-emergency dental procedures beginning March 25 for the next two weeks to preserve medical supplies and PPE for COVID-19 response.  
 
The following regulations will be in effect at 12:01 AM tonight, March 25th, 2020, through April 15th, 2020. 
 
Organized gatherings of ten (10) or more people are prohibited;
 
Social distancing of six feet (6') between individuals;
 
Visitors at nursing homes, retirement, or long-term care facilities are prohibited.
 
The following public places are hereby closed to the public along with all other none essential businesses:
 
·        Gyms, Fitness Facilities
 
·        Spas
 
·        Hair Salons
 
·        Entertainment/Performance Venues
 
·        Recreation centers
 
·        Sports Facilities
 
·        Museums
 
The restrictions do not apply to places that offer food and beverage, not for on-premise consumption, such as grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies, and food pantries.
 
The restrictions do not apply to health care facilities, childcare facilities, and residential care facilities.
 
Restaurants, dining rooms, cafes, coffeehouses, and other places of public accommodation offering food and beverages are closed to the public except curbside pickup, drive-thru, takeout, and delivery services may remain open to the public.  This does not apply to schools or in-house cafeterias that serve residents and employees, such as childcare facilities, crisis shelters, or similar institutions.

The following city buildings are CLOSED to the public until further notice:
Delaware County Community Center
Delaware County Library
Jay Senior Citizen's Center 
The lobby of Jay City Hall/JUA/Jay Police Department
 
Please know these restrictions and regulations are continually changing, and we will make every effort to keep you up to date.

City Hall on Lockdown

March 20, 2020

In an effort to limit contact due to Coronavirus, City Hall / Jay Utilities is on Lockdown.  All payments are to be made either: Online on this site, call the office and pay over the phone, drop box to the left of the Jay Utility office door, mail or automatic bank withdrawal.  

Jay Utility office phones will still be answered during normal business hours 8 am - 4:30 pm.

JSSA Field Closure

March 18, 2020

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and new CDC guidance regarding social distancing and limited gatherings, the softball and baseball fields of Jay Summer Sports Association will be closed for practice and games until April 6th.

We will reassess the situation as it evolves and notify everyone of the relevant changes to our operations.

Jay Utility Offices

In an effort to limit contact due to coronavirus, we ask all our customers to make payments in the drop box just to the left of our door or you can now pay with a debit/credit card online.  Simply go to CityofJay.City and go to the Resident Tab.  If you need to speak to us, simply call us at 918-253-8542.  Thank you.
